NEXT MEETING, 12/16/2000
The agenda for December will be open. Remember, the "Out of Your Category" contest originally scheduled for
December has been postponed because it appeared that few members would have anything finished in time.
PREVIOUS MEETING, 11/18/2000
Seven members were present in November. We discussed various results from the Desert Classic contest,
including ways to improve future contests. We held a raffle and made new assignments for future refresments
responsibilities.
Attendees
Matt Graham, Jim and Matt Madrid, Bill Kelly, Mike Valdez, Nick Kiriokos, and Jim Abercromby.
Treasurer's Report
Our account balance is now $710.02. This represents a decrease of $115.12 since the last report. Credits
include $21.50 from the November Raffle. Debits include $33.00 to reimburse out of pocket expenses for
members who bought items for the Desert Classic raffle, and $103.62 for combined October meeting raffle items
and food for the judges at the Desert Classic contest.
Meeting Business
Judging Basics:
We will have more concentration on reviewing basic judging criteria prior to future yearly
contests based on experiences at the recent Desert Classic where there were isolated cases of categories having
to be rejudged due to missed priorities the first time around.
Contest Categories Split:
1/72 scale prop will be split into two categories in the future: 1/72 prop single engine
and 1/72 prop multi-engine. Also the "AFV, Artillery, Soft Skin" category will be split into two categories: "Self
Propelled Guns" and "Assault Tanks". These decisions were made based on the large number of related entries
this year.
Better Judging Organization:
In future contests we would like to have a more detailed outline of judges and their
assignments, earlier in the day. Also, one person will be assigned to monitor the judging "tally sheet" as judging
progresses.
2001 Contest Date:
A possible date for next year's contest would be November 3rd. November 11th is
already taken by the Kit Collectors' Swap Meet.

WRAP-UP
December is a busy month for most of us, with family commitments and other events. To anyone who cannot
make it to the December meeting, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, and thanks for helping to make the AVG a great IPMS
club for this past year of 2000. Let's hope we can make it even better as 2001 approaches.
